School teaches pattern drafting, materials and construction alongside design, most graduates just decide it isn't for them. That choice is the one that quietly kills collections later.

AI has a real place in fashion design, but for now, it's a specific one: speeding up ideation, narrowing material choices, and getting a shared idea in front of a team before the first sample gets cut. Outside those three points, the usefulness drops off quickly, and even within them, it only sharpens what you already know how to do.

Sustainable material choice is not about picking a "good" fibre over a "bad" one. It is about weighing what a material costs to make, wear and eventually dispose of, against what it is actually used for.
